There are a large number of Pubs and Restaurants spread right across the Villages and Towns throughout the area. There are also a number of Pubs and Restaurants located in scenic and peaceful rural surrounding. Food available varies from, various different types of Take Aways, a large selection of pub grub, restaurants with a wide range of creative menus at reasonable prices.

Pubs in the Region provide ample opportunity for a good night out, with a huge selection of different types of entertainment, varying from Traditional Rock and Country and Western music.

Local musicians come together to play traditional music in Boyle: Thursday nights in Lavin's pub and Friday nights in Wynnes pub. A charming, traditional, family run bar, MJ Henry's is located in the picturesque village of Cootehall on the River Boyle, part of the River Shannon in County Roscommon. Popular with locals and a favourite for people boating on the Shannon, there is live music and a DJ every weekend. Also sporting highlights on the large screen TV. Your can enjoy a quiet pint in the traditional bar, in the comfortable lounge or in the beer garden when the sun shines. MJ Henrys are also happy to arrange parties and barbeques. Nearby attractions include Lough Key Forest Park for excellent walks in scenic surroundings; The Arigna Mining Experience, a disused former mine now reopened as a museum; King House museum in Boyle; Boyle Abbey local ruins open to the public.

Cootehall is signposted off the N4 Dublin Sligo road near the entrance to Lough Key, and the village is just a 3.2 kilometre drive from the N4.
