Every Saturday from 10am to 2pm
- In the Grounds of King House, Boyle, Co.Roscommon. The reasons to buy your food at the Boyle Farmers Market are endless, low food miles, seasonal produce and a wide range of produce in all weights and portion sizes. So come and see us this Saturday and help keep our culinary traditions alive!

The Bridgestone Award winning Farmer's Market in Boyle, provides an excellent range of local, wholesome and healthy produce.
"It has proven to be one of the success stories of the North-West" as stated in The Bridgestone Irish Food Guide.

The Boyle Origin Farmers Market is located in the sheltered walled courtyard of Georgian mansion, King House, Boyle and takes place every Saturday from 10am to 2pm, where shoppers have the opportunity to buy local produce either made or grown close to home, and the opportunity to talk directly to the producers. The founding of the Origin Farmers Market, was made possible by the support of > Arigna LEADER.

Boyle Market has available a large variety of freshly made breads, cakes and boxty, that are very reasonably priced. Very competitively priced, locally grown and freshly picked fruit & vegetables, with a good selection of organic produce. Speciality honey, teas, jams and home made chocolate produce, there is also a variety of exclusive woodcrafts, greetings cards made for your own special occasions, why not have a candle made for that special moment, such as a christening or wedding. Organic chicken & meat, large selection of fresh fish, freshly made hot oriental dishes and not forgetting your organic eggs all at very reasonable prices.

Boyle Farmers Market offers you the opportunity to buy fresh, locally grown produce, including vegetables that are in season, organic meat & poultry and fresh fish, to name just a few. Fruit & Vegetables are part of a balanced diet that helps us stay healthy. Minimal food miles for these products mean you are reducing your carbon footprint, as well as eating healthily by choosing local food in season. The market is held in the grounds of King House in Military Road, Boyle, every Saturday from 10am until 2pm, with stallholders from around the region braving the winter weather to bring you the finest local produce and handmade crafts. PRIMARY COURSE IN FOOD SAFETY (Certified by Environmental Health Officers Association)
2 day course on Friday 5th March 1.30 - 5.30 and Monday 8th March 1.30 - 5.30

"The Objective of the Primary Course in Food Safety is to create an awareness and knowledge in food workers of the reasons for the importance of good food safety practices.With the emergence of new food safety legislation the need for formal training/education of food workers in good hygiene practices has been encapsulated in law. The course covers a broad range of subjects, including an overview of basic microbiology, food contamination, food safety law, personal hygiene, cleaning procedures and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. These subjects are geared towards enabling food workers to see and understand where problems could arise in the preparation, handling, storage or service of food. These problems could if uncontrolled create a risk of food poisoning to the consumer and the subsequent damage to the food business.
The course consists of 8 sessions, each of one hour duration, comprising of text and DVD presentations.
On completion of the course, the student undertakes a written exam of 1 hour duration. An oral exam can be taken by special arrangement with the tutor. Successful students are awarded a Certificate in the Primary Course in Food Safety from the EHOA.The Primary Course in Food Safety has been designed by a team of Environmental Health Officers’, each of whom have many years experiences in food hygiene inspections and food safety training", the cost is €75 ( this includes €30 for certification).

SOMETHING CHEESEY!

Chef Siobhan Quinn ( who is already a regular at Boyle Market with her husband John, selliing a large selection of their home bakes), has a large selection of Irish, French & Greek Cheeses, in addition to this they have stuffed and un-stuffed olives & anchovies, salads and pickles. Boyle Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 10am to 2pm in the grounds of King House, Boyle.

Available is a large supply of local organic & non-organic fruit and vegetables and a selection of imported organic fruit & veg that is not available in Ireland, organic free range eggs, home made breads, cakes, buns and pastries, flans and quiches. A large selection of fresh fish, local pork including sausages, rashers and gluten free sausages, Organic Meat & Chickens. There are several craftspeople selling their goods, including wonderful hand made timber products. Please come along and support your local Farmer's Market!
