One 4 Bedroom apartment
and three 3 bedroomed apartments ( one designed
for wheel-chair access). These superb Holiday
Rentals are are comfortable, cut stone residences
which have been fully modernised and incorporate
oil fired central heating and all modern conveniences.
Two of the period rental cottages face the 2 acre
walled kitchen garden and orchard and all three
have Irish Tourist Board accreditation. In addition
Clonalis also has one longstay mews cottage. Outside
patio area with Barbecue. |

The
Stewards House (3*)
The Stewards House is situated in the Georgian Period
Courtyard. This holiday rental house comprises four
bedrooms (two twins and two doubles), bathroom and
shower room, fully equipped large kitchen, separate
sitting room and additional sitting/ dining room with
period fireplaces.
The Orchard and Garden Houses
(4*)
The Garden and Orchard Houses are situated in the
peaceful enclosed walled garden of Clonalis facing
due south ensuring maximum sun light. Each
self-catering house sleeps up to six people and comprises
two twin bedrooms and one double bedroom all ensuite.
Downstairs has an open plan kitchen and dining area
with an open fireplace. Both are equipped to the highest
standard including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave
and television.
Distances
Clonalis House is located on the right hand side,
just one mile from the town of Castlerea, Co Roscommon
on the N60 (Ballyhaunis Road), within easy driving
distance of both Knock and Galway Airports. Castlerea
is served by both a train and bus service. Trains
on the Dublin/Westport route service the town three
times daily.
Activities
in area
Tennis,
fishing and forest walks close by. They are an ideal
base from which tour the West of Ireland, Sligo and
the Midlands providing the perfect holiday location
to relax and unwind.
Clonalis
House is the ancestral home of the O'Conors of Connaught,
descendants of last High King of Ireland and traditional
Kings of Connaught. Built in 1878, Clonalis House
contains a priceless collection of archival material
relating to the O'Conor family. The Coronation Stone
and the 18th Century Harp of Turlough O'Carolan, last
of the Gaelic bards are also to be seen.
Luxury Manor House Accommodation in Co Roscommon,

Clonalis
provides an ideal base to tour not only Co Roscommon
but Galway, Mayo and Sligo. The extensive woodlands
provide a beautiful setting for resting and relaxing.
Located close to the courtyard is a hard surface tennis
court. Brown trout and coarse fishing are also available
on the River Suck, a river which runs through the
Estate or on the nearby Lake O'Flynn (6 miles), where
boats are available for hire.
In
season Clonalis has an excellent woodcock shoot in
its 250 acres of deciduous and coniferous forestry
plantations and is approved by the Irish Forestry
and Wildlife Service for this purpose. Altogether
the Estate retains shooting rights over 5000 acres
of bog and woodland.
Clonalis
is located close (1 mile) to Castlerea Golf Club,
a challenging 9 hole woodland golf course. Within
a radius of one hours drive there are five championship
golf courses, including Enniscrone, Rosses Point and
Glasson.
Clonalis
is also 16 miles from Strokestown Park House and Famine
Museum and King House, Boyle both of which are open
to the public. Clonalis is also just 16 miles from
the Basilica of Our Lady at Knock Co Mayo.
For
those wishing to trace the built heritage of the O'Conors
of Connacht, one of Ireland's most illustrious Clans,
Clonalis is surrounded by many Castles, Abbeys and
other historic sites associated with the Clan over
the past two thousand years
Prices
are inclusive of most charges (heating & hot water
costs, linen & towels, cable TV, etc) with the
exception of phone charges and Internet usage, where
available. Each apartment is allocated an electricity
allowance. Excessive use of electricity will result
in a surcharge being applied to your bill. Please
ensure that all appliances, lighting, heating, hot
water etc are turned off unless required.
Please ensure that apartments are left in good condition
- all waste placed in waste bin, and all crockery,
cutlery and utensils washed. Otherwise, an additional
charge of €25.00 will be applied.
