Set in the breathtaking surroundings of the 800 acre Lough Key Resort, on the shores of Lough Key on the River Shannon. This superbly landscaped site is an ideal holiday location. There are many activities to enjoy on site, miles of forest walks and trails, spectacular flora and fauna including the beautiful Bog Gardens, make a wish on the Wishing Chair, climb to the top of the Moylurg Tower via the only Tree-Top Walk in Ireland, Challenge yourself in the Boda Burg and adventure playground, cross the Fairy Bridge, visit Ring Forts and Castles. Take the 1hr cruise around the lake and enjoy the beauty, tranquillity and history of Lough Key with commentary including the Legend of Una Bhan and the colourful legacy of Trinity Church and Castle Islands told by the local guide on the enclosed cruise boat or hire a boat and explore the islands of Lough Key at your leisure.

Lough Keel Scout Campsite is situated 5 km from Boyle town and 10 km from Carrick-on-Shannon just off the N4 Dublin - Sligo route, adjacent to the renowned Lough Key Forest Park.

A 4-acre site, which can accommodate up to 250 campers.The Services Block has ladies and gents toilets and individual private hot showers.Lights and water taps are located the complete length of the camping area. A designated campfire circle is available. Available from March to end of year to all Scouts, Guides and Youth Groups, both National and International.

How to get there:
Take the R293 from Ballagderreen towards Castlerea, take R325 over bridge baring to the left, continue for 1 mile. Take right turn at signpost and continue for approx 500 metres.

The area is also rich in archaeological remains and has an interesting historical heritage. For those wishing to walk we are ideally suited for all types of Walking with the Curlieus and Ox mountains nearby, and central to Connemara, Co.
