Sun 5th Feb - ATHLETICS EVENT FOR BOYLE
North Roscommon Athletic Club are the hosts for the Woodie's DIY AAI Intermediate and Master Cross Country and Juvenile 'B' Championships and Inter County Relays on Sunday 5th February in Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle. This will be the second time to host the event in 3 seasons with the 2010 event being a great success. 1500+ athletes are expected to compete on the day accompanied by their families, coaches, supporters and officials from Athletics Ireland. This will be a great opportunity to show off what the area offers and what great hosts Boyle people are and hopefully we will entice many to visit us again during the year. Anyone interested in helping to prepare/set-up for the event or stewarding on the 4th or 5th February, we'd be glad to hear from you. Contact a North Roscommon Athletics Club official.

The club's AGM will be held Sunday 5th February, in Abbey Park Clubrooms at 5.00pm. All players, parents and interested persons in Boyle GAA are invited to attend.

Sun 5th Feb - Curlieu Wheelers
The Curlieu Wheelers weekly cycles continue to run every Tuesday & Thursday evening at 7.00pm from St Joseph's Boys National School Abbeytown Boyle. Hi-vis, front and back lights are compulsory and every Sunday morning at 9.30am from the same start point. All abilities facilitated - Beginners/ Intermediate/ Advanced. Sun 5th Feb - Credit Union Quiz Finals
St Joseph's Hall, Boyle will be the venue for the Stage 1-Boyle Credit Union Local Area Quiz Finals, at 6pm on Sunday next 5th February. The competition is open to all nineteen primary schools in the newly enlarged Boyle Credit Union area that now includes the former Kilronan-Drumboylan area. All schools in the area have been issued with entry forms and they may enter up to four teams per school in each of the age categories-Under 11 and Under 13. The winning team in each age category will go on to represent the area in the Chapter Finals in early March, while the winners and runners-up in both competition will receive prizes on the evening.

Mon 6th Feb - Boyle TENNIS
Coaching will recommence for six weeks from Monday 6th February. The cost for this couse is €30 which includes membership for the year to March 1st 2013. Thurs 9th Feb - Co. Roscommon Ploughing Championships meeting
The 2012 Co. Roscommon Ploughing Championships will be held in Boyle this year at a farm in Kilbryan, 2km outside town on the N4. A date in April has been set for the championships.An important Information Meeting will be held in Clarke's Bar, St. Patrick Street on 9th February at 8.30pm. Full details will be disclosed and suggestions discussed on how to maximise a Boyle plan to run, cater and enjoy the smooth running of this prestigious one-day event.

All Tourism and Recreational related businesses, events and attractions within County Roscommon, are invited to participate in the inaugural "Showcase Roscommon" event, which will promote the wide ranging and diverse tourism events and attractions available within the County to both county residents and organisations and those further afield. The event is being organised by 'Roscommon Community Tourism Network (RCTN) and will be hosted by Gleeson's Townhouse and Restaurant, Roscommon on, Sunday 4th March between midday and 5pm to showcase existing and new events and attractions, so make sure to book your place early. There is no charge for exhibiting at, or visiting this event as RCTN want to involve as many groups and businesses as possible in order to promote Roscommon as an exciting and innovative place to come, visit and stay. Sun 6th May - Boyle Charity Duathlon
The third Boyle Charity Duathlon. Lough Key Forest Park is an ideal location for multi-sport events with its beautiful scenery and full compliment of amenities. So if your an athlete looking to get your race season off to an early start or your thinking about trying a duathlon for the first time then this is the event for you! The Charity you will be supporting is "The Ciara Grehan Foundation" in association with Ability West. Run routes - 5km - 2.5km course in the scenic and tranquil Forest Park. Cycle route - 20km course exiting Forest Park at Ardcarne junction onto the N4 with a turnaround 1km from Carrick on Shannon and returning back along the N4 to Forest Park via the Rathdiven entrance. Registration fee includes an event t-shirt for all competitors as well as prizes and trophys, spot prizes also. Why not make this event a family day out as bouncy castles, childrens obstacle course, face painting and other activities will be taking place in conjunction with the duathlon. The normal Forest Park 4 euro parking fee will not apply. Boyle Charity Duathlon in association with Roscommon Sports Partnership. 6th May at 12 noon, 5km run - 20km cycle - 2.5km run (Sprint Distance), Registration fee €25, Event fully insured (No race licence required), Max entry 250, Chip Timing.

The International Eucharistic Congress will take place at the RDS, Dublin on Monday 11th June and Thursday 14th June 2012. Buses from Boyle Parish will travel to the Congress. There is an urgency to register all interested persons as soon as possible due to limited availability of places at the Congress. Please contact Fr.
