5th Feb - ATHLETICS EVENT FOR BOYLE
North Roscommon Athletic Club are the hosts for the
Woodie's DIY AAI Intermediate and Master Cross Country
and Juvenile 'B' Championships and Inter County Relays
on Sunday 5th February in Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle.
This will be the second time to host the event in
3 seasons with the 2010 event being a great success.
1500+ athletes are expected to compete on the day
accompanied by their families, coaches, supporters
and officials from Athletics Ireland. This will be
a great opportunity to show off what the area offers
and what great hosts Boyle people are and hopefully
we will entice many to visit us again during the year.
Anyone interested in helping to prepare/set-up for
the event or stewarding on the 4th or 5th February,
we'd be glad to hear from you. Contact a North Roscommon

5th Feb - Credit Union Quiz Finals
St Joseph's Hall, Boyle will be the venue for the
Stage 1-Boyle Credit Union Local Area Quiz Finals,
at 6pm on Sunday next 5th February. The competition
is open to all nineteen primary schools in the newly
enlarged Boyle Credit Union area that now includes
the former Kilronan-Drumboylan area. All schools in
the area have been issued with entry forms and they
may enter up to four teams per school in each of the
age categories-Under 11 and Under 13. The winning
team in each age category will go on to represent
the area in the Chapter Finals in early March, while
the winners and runners-up in both competition will
receive prizes on the evening.

Charity Duathlon
The third Boyle Charity Duathlon. Lough Key Forest
Park is an ideal location for multi-sport events with
its beautiful scenery and full compliment of amenities.
So if your an athlete looking to get your race season
off to an early start or your thinking about trying
a duathlon for the first time then this is the event
for you! The Charity you will be supporting is "The
Ciara Grehan Foundation" in association with
Ability West. Run routes - 5km - 2.5km course in the
scenic and tranquil Forest Park. Cycle route - 20km
course exiting Forest Park at Ardcarne junction onto
the N4 with a turnaround 1km from Carrick on Shannon
and returning back along the N4 to Forest Park via
the Rathdiven entrance. Registration fee includes
an event t-shirt for all competitors as well as prizes
and trophys, spot prizes also. Why not make this event
a family day out as bouncy castles, childrens obstacle
course, face painting and other activities will be
taking place in conjunction with the duathlon. The
normal Forest Park 4 euro parking fee will not apply.
